Fixed Routes
Fixed routes: plan your regular rounds once, run them every week
If your drivers run the same rounds most weeks, you should not rebuild them every day. Set each route up once with its driver, vehicle and customers, and build any day's plan from them. Orders from a route's customers go straight onto it, you handle the exceptions by hand, then Fleetnyx puts the drops in the shortest order and checks the weights.
- A different driver and vehicle for each day
- Orders drop straight onto their route
- Weight warnings and an AI review
Standing routes
Create a route with a name, colour and depot, and a default driver, vehicle and helper. Pause it without losing it.
A different crew each day
Give Monday to Sunday their own driver, vehicle or helper, or switch a route off on days it does not run. Blank days use the default.
Only vehicles the driver can drive
Choose a driver and the vehicle list is limited to the vehicles they are licensed for, using licence category, their own weight limit and licence and CPC dates.
Customers on their route
Assign customers to a route in their usual drop order, adding them at the top or bottom. A customer belongs to one route, so nobody is planned twice.

Orders drop straight in
When you build the day, each customer's order goes onto their route. New orders from your ERP or typed in later are added to the draft plan automatically.
Hands-on when you need it
Drag or move any order between routes, copy a previous day's route, or change today's driver or vehicle when someone is off.
Optimise the sequence
Once the drops are in, one click puts every route in the shortest order. Orders stay on the route you chose, and you see the kilometres saved.
Weight and load warnings
Routes over their weight limit, over their pallet count, or with a drop the vehicle cannot serve (tail lift, chilled, site limit) are flagged in red.
AI review of the finished routes
Mark the fixed routing complete and ask for a review. It suggests orders that would be better on another route, to save driving or relieve an overweight vehicle, and you choose which to apply.
How it works
From start to finish
- 1
Set up once
Create each route with its crew for each day and its customers in their usual order.
- 2
Build the day
Choose the date and build. Each route gets that weekday's driver and vehicle and its customers' orders.
- 3
Handle the exceptions
Place orders from other customers by hand, and swap a driver or vehicle for today if needed.
- 4
Optimise and check
Put the drops in the shortest order and clear any weight warnings.
- 5
Review and publish
Ask for the AI review, apply the moves you like, and publish to drivers.
Frequently asked questions
Can a fixed route have a different driver on different days?
Yes. Every day of the week can have its own driver, vehicle and helper, or be switched off. Any day left blank uses the route's default.
What if a driver is off or a van is in the workshop?
When you build the day you can choose another driver or vehicle for just that day. A route whose crew cannot be used is skipped, with the reason shown.
Does the AI change my routes by itself?
No. It only makes suggestions, each checked against weight, pallets, vehicle fit and delivery windows. You tick the moves you want and apply them.
What happens to orders from customers who are on no fixed route?
They stay in the unplanned list so you can place them by hand. You can still use the automatic route builder for them.
Do I have to use fixed routes?
No. The automatic optimiser is still there for days that are different. Fixed routes are for the rounds that repeat.
